Sitara
A water bottle tiled in silver scales. The body is worked in an all-over scalloped lattice, each scale filled with fine silver leafwork and set at intervals with dark enamel, so the pattern shifts between bright silver and shadow like a field of stars. A fluted neck and a floral band at the foot frame the repeat, keeping the rhythm clean from top to base.

The Detail
Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, the piece holds to pattern over picture: no single motif, only the steady repeat of the scale, silver and dark enamel alternating across the whole. It is made to be used, and made to be seen using.
