Mayurpankh
A water bottle crowned with a peacock. Against a dark ground, a single peacock in green and blue enamel rests among a flowering silver vine, its tail cascading the length of the body and scattered with small coral and yellow blooms. The plain silver neck and collar hold the form steady while the enamelled panel carries all the colour, like a miniature painted around the bottle.

The Detail
Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, the piece gives an everyday object a single, glorious subject: the peacock raised and enamelled, the silver vine left bright around it, colour held to the bird and the flowers. It is made to be used, and made to be seen using.
