Deepmandir
A small pavilion of silver, made to honour what sits beneath it. Built as a domed canopy on fine pillars, the hatri holds a ring of little bowls at its crown for offerings or oil, while strands of coloured stone drops hang between the columns like a decorated doorway. In worship it becomes a seat of honour, whether for coins and jewellery at Lakshmi puja or a small deity placed within, worked all over in scrolling floral engraving and raised on a scalloped, footed base.

The Detail
Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, the piece is architecture in miniature: a dome, a colonnade, a threshold of hanging stones, all held at the scale of the altar. It is made for the festival of light, and made to hold what matters most.
