Chaman
A box whose lid is a garden in full flower. Dense silver leafwork scrolls across the top with peacocks hidden in the foliage, scattered all over with small enamelled blooms and jewelled florets in pink, blue, green, and red. The sides carry the same flowering vine down to an ornate clasp and rounded feet, so the garden runs unbroken over the whole.

The Detail
Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, the piece fills every surface without ever crowding: a thicket of silver leaves, flowers set like small jewels throughout, peacocks for the eye to find. It is made to serve, and made to reward a closer look.
