Shaan
A vintage motor car rendered in silver, made to open as a dry fruit box. Every element is worked by hand, including spoked wheels, headlamps, wing mirrors, a domed cabin with open windows, and a small peacock poised on the bonnet. The body panels are set with deep blue meenakari and scattered with gold-and-red enamel flowers, framed in fine filigree and nakshi, and the roof lifts on a hinge to reveal the box within.

The Detail
Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, it takes the idea of a serving box somewhere unexpected: a period motor car built in miniature, dressed in enamel, made to sit on the table as a showpiece and open as one. It is made to serve, and made to be marvelled at first.
