Silver Mandir

Devalaya

A temple in miniature, built to bring the shrine into the home. Four pillars rise to a domed shikhar crowned with a gold kalash, and within the canopy sits Ganesh, framed by a gilded arch and flanked by peacocks in blue and green enamel. The whole is worked in deep jali and scrolling engraving, its floor laid in a gold-and-silver checkerboard, its base stepped and pillared like the plinth of a true temple. Gold is carried through the finial, the arch, and the lotus details, lifting the silver without ever overtaking it.

The Detail

Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, it is the studio's fullest expression of devotional architecture: dome, colonnade, sanctum, and threshold rendered at the scale of the home altar. It is made to be the centre of daily worship, and to hold that place for generations.
