Dhankosh
A casket made to keep what is sacred. Worked in deep repoussé across every face, with deities and attendant figures framed in dense foliage, it is the box in which a home keeps its most treasured ritual things: coins and jewellery for the deity, a mala, or the gold set aside for Lakshmi at Dhanteras. A hinged lid, a central clasp, and sculpted feet complete a piece built to be opened on the altar and closed with care.

The Detail
Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, it takes the humble idea of a box and gives it the weight of a shrine: figures raised in full relief, gold carried across the whole, a lid that turns keeping into ritual.
