Hindola
A swing made to seat the divine. In the tradition of Hindolotsav, the deity is placed on a jhula and gently rocked through the monsoon season, and here that ritual is given full form: a peacock throne on the swing seat, Radha and Krishna crowning the arched frame above, and guardian elephants at the foot of each pillar. The frame is worked in deep silver engraving with gold and enamel accents, hung on fine chains, and raised on a stepped, footed base.

The Detail
Worked entirely by hand in Jaipur, it turns a seasonal act of devotion into an object made to hold it year after year: a throne, a canopy, a swing, each rendered at the scale of the home altar. It is made for the festival of swings, and made to be brought out for it every year.
